Sustainable Development Goal 7

GOAL 7: Affordable and clean energy
Ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all:
Lack of access to energy supply and transformation systems is an obstacle to human and economic development. The environment provides a number of renewable and non-renewable energy sources, ie solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, biofuels, natural gas, coal, oil, uranium.
The increased use of fossil fuels without actions to mitigate greenhouse gases will have implications for global climate change. Energy efficiency and increased use of renewable energy contribute to mitigating climate change and reducing disaster risk. Maintaining and protecting ecosystems enables the use and further development of hydroelectric sources of electricity and bioenergy.
Facts:
3 billion people depend on wood, charcoal, charcoal or animal waste for cooking and heating
Energy is the main contributor to climate change, accounting for around 60% of total global greenhouse gas emissions.
Since 1990, global CO2 emissions have increased by more than 46%.
Hydropower is the largest source of renewable electricity today, providing 16% of the world's electricity at competitive prices. It dominates the electricity mix in several countries, developed, emerging or developing.
Bioenergy is the largest renewable energy source today, providing 10% of the world's primary energy supply.
